WorldWise All-Ireland at Croke Park

In spite of wintry weather conditions on Dec 3rd more than 200 students and teachers from 20 schools throughout Ireland converged on Croke Park to participate in the first WorldWise Student Conference. They set up a Global Village Market reflecting the activities they are engaged in with their partner schools and throughout the day shared their learning and experiences through information, song, dance, performance, IT and art. See photos of the conference.

One of the highlights was the keynote address which was delivered by her Excellency , Mrs Mannete Ramaili , the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Lesotho. In the afternoon there were visits to the market from more than 70 students and teachers from schools interested in becoming involved in WorldWise learning partnerships. The buzz from the day was tremendous and the feedback was that teachers, students and indeed WorldWise staff got new ideas and felt energised and enthused by the seeing what others were doing.

Each school was presented with a certificate by Mr. Austin Gormley of Irish Aid to acknowledge their participation in such a successful day.
