Jan: the teachers of Kapcheplanga Secondary School, Londiani, Kenya, succesfully carried out their visit to Killinarden Community School Tallaght amid the snows and freezing weather of early January

Irish Teachers visit their partner schools in Africa and Asia
The October mid-term saw a continuation of the Irish teacher visits which started during the summer holidays. Irish teachers from WorldWise schools in Cork, Donegal, Dublin, Roscommon and Monaghan travelled to countries as diverse as India, Kenya, Vietnam, the Philippines, Ghana and Lesotho in order to visit their partners and to further develop their projects together. School links have been solidified, partnership agreements established, and there is a greater sense of understanding and friendship between partner schools as a result of these visits. Autumn 2009 Partner Teachers arrive on visits to Irish schools

Castleblaney College in Monaghan began the new school year on a high note by welcoming four teachers from their partner school, St Mary's Secondary School, in Accra, Ghana. Three other Irish schools hosted similar visits from WorldWise partners in September and October, and more are scheduled for November and December.

June and July 2009

A Busy Summer for Irish Teachers
Irish teachers from some WorldWise schools had a busy summer which included travel to their partner schools in order to progress their learning partnerships. Three members of staff travelled from Royal and Prior Comprehensive in Donegal to their partner, Bombi Primary School, in Kenya. Two teachers from Loreto College Stephens Green travelled to Mvenyane Secondary School in South Africa. And there was a second visit to Kenya when three teachers from Killinarden Community School, Tallaght travelled to Kapcheplanga Secondary School in Kenya. We are looking forward to including pictures and reports from their visits as the new school year begins

March and April 09 Colaiste Dhulaigh students and teachers visit Vietnam

Seven students and two teachers from Colaiste Dhulaigh travelled to Vietnam at the end of March to visit the Christina Noble Foundation and to establish a school linking project in Vietnam.

March and April 09 St Joseph's CBS Nenagh visits St Edmunds Mazabuka, Zambia

Three teachers and seven students from St..Joseph's visited St Edmund's Secondary school In Mazabuka Zambia, before Easter. This was in order to develop their school linking project and followed a visit by Irish teachers to Mazabuka the previous July.

November2008 Partner Teachers from Lesotho Visit Bray and Dingle

St Thomas' Community College in Bray hosted a visit from Mamphula Nyapisi, teacher of Geography at Malithuso High School, Mapoteng, Lesotho in late November.

Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne is hosting James Aboa and Tohland Lenka, from Morate High School , Lesotho, in January 09

November 2008 Seamount College Kinvara makes Transition Times

The mural created at Seamount School, Galway as part of their WorldWise project was featured in the Irish Times Transition Times section in November.

October 2008 Teacher Visits to Kenya and Ethipia

WorldWise teacher visits took place from Rockbrook Park College in Dublin and St. Wolstan’s Community College in Kildare during the mid-term break to their partner schools in Kenya and Ethiopia respectively. Read more about their experiences here.
