Guidelines
Please take time to read through the following information before starting this project
- 1 Each project should be created by a team of 2 to 6 pupils.
- 2 All individuals working on a project must be registered pupils in a primary or special school in the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland between the ages of 8 and 13 (7 to 18 in special schools).
- 3 All work entered must be pupils' own but may be aided/guided by a teacher. Each entry must have the signature of a teacher/principal to attest it is the pupils' own work and has the support of the school.
- 4 Projects may be completed in Irish or English
- 5 The competition categories are as follows
- Category A: 3rd & 4th Classes (RoI) and Years 5 & 6 (NI)
- Category B: 5th & 6th Classes (RoI) and Year 7 (NI)
- 6 Entries must be sent to irish aid our world global schools' awards, real event solutions, 54 ballyhooley road, st luke's cross, cork
- 7 All entries must be accompanied by a completed entry form.
- 8 Pupils may enter as many projects as they like.
- 9 Entries cannot be returned under any circumstances
- 10 Entries that are three dimensional or fragile should be submitted as photographs as we cannot accept the physical pieces themselves. Two dimensional work should be no larger than A2 when compact. If necessary, arrangements will be made to collect pieces if needed for the exhibition and awards ceremony.
- 11 The awards are as follows:
- Schools which enter projects which have consistently shown an in-depthunderstanding of the subject and creativity will receive an "Irish Aid Our World Global Schools' Awards" plaque
- Ten projects (5 from category A and 5 from category B) that have shown an excellent understanding of the issues will be invited to an awards ceremony in Dublin to receive an award.
- One additional entry who has been judged to have created an outstanding project will also be invited to attend the ceremony and will receive the "Irish Aid Our World Global Schools' Awards" trophy.
Rules & Regulation
- 1 The judges and the sponsoring organisation will not enter into correspondence with regard to judges' decisions and the decision of the judges in all the competition entry categories will be final.
- 2 Real Event Solutions and Irish Aid cannot accept responsibility for lost, damaged or delayed entries. Proof of posting is not proof of receipt.
- 3 Employees, contractors or persons directly or professionally associated with employees of Real Event Solutions or Irish Aid may not enter this competition.
- 4 It is imperative that all entries must be pupils' original work and not plagiarised wholly or in part.
- 5 Short-listed entrants may be asked to provide proof of age and to confirm the authenticity of their entry.
- 6 All entrants agree to be bound by the rules of the competition; failure on the part of any entrant to adhere to any or all of these rules will render the entry in question invalid.
- 7 Schools who have been successful in receiving a prize additional to a plaque will be notified in January. Plaques will arrive to schools shortly thereafter.
- 8 Prize winners invited to the exhibition and awards ceremony must be accompanied by a parent, teacher or guardian.
- 9 Prize-winners may be required to participate in publicity (photographs, interview, quotations etc.)
- 10 The promoters reserve the right to change prize specifications subject to availability at conclusion of this competition. No cash or alternative in whole or part of the prize will be offered.
- 11 By entering this competition copyright of all original material is retained by the author.
