Information and questions to consider for volunteering overseas
If you would like to book a visit to the Irish Aid Centre for a school, community or youth group please use this form.
These are the criteria for holding of Exhibitions and Events at the Irish Aid Centre. Please read these guidelines before proceeding to 'request an event' at the Irish Aid Volunteering and Information Centre.
Please note: the calendar for exhibitions in 2008 is now full.
Events held at the Centre may advocate international development and human rights policies, (eg the Millennium Development Goals, gender equality). However, political advocacy per se will not be facilitated.
Irish Aid welcomes events/exhibitions with a cultural (e.g. artistic, literary) component which improve understanding of the countries in which we work.
The Centre will not normally host internal meetings of organisations. However, we would welcome broader meetings that promote networking and best practice across the development and volunteering sectors.
While endeavouring to host a diverse selection of exhibitions Irish Aid may not be in a position to facilitate all requests. Priority will be given to Irish Aid funded organisations.
Any extra costs incurred as part of an event, such as catering, transport and advertising, will be the responsibility of the organisation holding the event.
Organisations will be expected to make the practical arrangements for the events themselves, including setting up and removing exhibition content, notifying attendees, welcoming and hosting, catering etc.
We ask for at least 4 weeks notice when requesting permission to host events at the Centre.
The Irish Aid Volunteering & Information Centre should be recognised in all branding and marketing for events.
