4th Global Partners Forum on Children affected by HIV and AIDS
HIV/AIDS, United Nations - United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF)

The 4th Global Partners Forum on Children affected by HIV and AIDS will be held at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham in Dublin, Ireland on the 6th and 7th October 2008 and is co-hosted by Irish Aid, Department of Foreign Affairs, and UNICEF.

The Global Partners Forum (GPF) was established in 2003 to provide momentum in fulfilling global commitments for children affected by HIV and AIDS as enshrined in the United Nations General Assembly 2001 Declaration of Commitment on HIV/AIDS and the Millennium Development Goals. The GPF brings together leaders in Government, civil society and UN agencies to review global progress, set global priorities, and make commitments for children affected by HIV and AIDS.

The Forum aims to: -

• Renew the commitment of international partners to accelerate support for the protection and care of children affected by HIV and AIDS.
• Promote awareness and endorsement of the evidence base as captured by the GPF synthesis paper.
• Report progress and highlight good practices identified since 2006.
• Produce a participant-endorsed communiqué defining measurable priorities for the next two years.
